Umii is a high growth saas startup focused on improving student well being in the higher education sector.

The company needed to understand its cash burn and runway, while at the same time producing compelling financial plans to share with prospective venture capital investors.

We initially built an integrated 3 statement model in excel to help with investor conversations, then converted it to a causal application for better usability

Firstly Umii wanted a solution that allowed them to communicate with investors in a manner that they are familiar with. This meant building an integrated financial forecast in excel. Secondly Umii wanted this excel model to be part of a wider suite of financial modelling and dashboarding tools that allowed them to integrate actual financial data from their core accounting system xero so that they could perform forecast vs actual analysis keeping their plans on track and also communicate their progress to the whole team via a visual dashboard

Significant results

Our engagement with Umii helped the management team raise significant seed investment for their business. The team now have a sophisticated financial model with real time integration with both their accounting system Xero and their CRM system Hubspot.

This model allows them to meet the information demands placed upon them by their investors and allows them via the visual dashboard to keep their team members on track to deliver the companies growth plan
